One Year

In one year
babies change so much.

They go from sleeping, pooping and eating all the time
to crawling everywhere, whining when you hold them and aren't their momma, pooping but almost like real poop, eating lots but its not as easy as when they were little.
They get teeth, their hair grows, they smile.
They can pick out their toys, they know what they want, and are continually changing
I think most of their growth and changes has to happen in the first few years

Lily is one year old today!

I wrote this last year the day she was born:
"My niece was born today. The adventure is about to begin. I can not imagine life without her here!
It is an amazing feeling. I had no idea your heart could explode from love.

That you could be so filled with joy, love, hope, fear, excitement, worry with one sight of that little bundle of perfection.
She is perfect. absolutely. not denying it. perfection.
The love I have for her is undeniable. strong. pure. big. true. unconditional. LOVE.
God, thank you for this precious gift in my life. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to love someone this special. Thank you for putting Lily in our lives, but especially my life. The hole that I had in my heart, was instantly filled with the love I carry for her. I love this little one more than life itself already... "

It feels like she has always been with us
I really didn't know you could love someone so much, so unconditionally, so quickly.
I love that little nugget more than I can explain
So proud to be her aunt!

A girls first love will always be her daddy...

In honor of my Papa's Birthday last Saturday
I wanted to make a list of the top 10 things he has taught me.

Because, well I love him, A LOT
And I love making lists!
Score

Melissa Jill Photography

Top 10 Things My Daddy Taught Me:

10. Laugh at yourself. My dad is the best at this. He lets us make fun of the little things he does, but he can laugh at himself about it all too. My dad's laugh is infectious. Oh and he is probably the most ticklish person you will ever meet, and we have definitely had some fun times trying to corner him to tickle him! Or when he used to end his texts with ' Luv you big daddy'... he really meant 'Love you big, daddy' we had to talk about that one.  Or when I was having a meltdown at work and was crying about how selfless I was being, and dad couldn't keep a straight face so then we just laughed for a good hour together about that one.

9. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff.  As a teenager I remember driving with my dad with Zig Zigler playing in his truck. Always some kind of motivation talk, some kind of words of wisdom; which as a kid I remember thinking it was so annoying. But I am so much like my dad, and I love that stuff now. He taught me that there is a bigger picture and you can't get so caught up in the small stuff and lose sight on what's really important.

8. You're never too old or busy for Cartoon movies. Or dad daughter dates. Or spending time with loved ones. I remember going on a dad daughter date to see the movie Robots in theaters. Robin Williams is the voice of the main robot. I remember being so excited to see a movie just Dad and I. We sat down next to this cute, lil toe head 6 year old boy with his buttery popcorn pack on his lap and blue slurpee covering his face. I sat next to the lil guy (His babysitter was next to him) and my dad sat on the other side of me. Literally, every time lil blue sticky face kid laughed at something, my dad was laughing at the same thing. They were like kindred spirits with each other.  I just remember that day so vividly because it was the day I learned you are never too old to be a kid and enjoy the simple things of life!

Marshmellow Guns we got for Christmas one year. We had a war. It was awesome.

7. Love with all your heart. I have never had to question my fathers love for me, or our family. Everything he does, he does with us in mind. He is not afraid to let his emotions show. He is the rock in our family. When things seem to be falling apart, he is there to pick up all the pieces. He loved me when I was going through my awful teenage girl phase (and still continues to when I revert back...) He loves us without condition. He loves all of us in our own way. He always protects. He always loves.

6. The difference is your choice. Anyone who has met my Dad knows he is different. He is a special kind of man, that I am so blessed to call my dad. I have learned that his reputation, his reaction, his happiness... they are all his choice. It isn't always easy to make the right decision. Its not easy to act with patience to someone who is constantly giving you attitude. He doesn't always wake up on the right side of the comfy bed. But he always CHOOSES to be better. He always chooses to have a good attitude. He always choose to put others before him and have a servant heart. This is definitely where my dad and I differ. This is just plain hard for me, but it is something I strive to do and wish I was more like my dad in this area.

5. Exercise is really important. My dad is a stud. I mean, he can do as many pushups as he is old! And lets just say, he can get a discount for an early bird special! He hikes South Mountain everyday, works outside to tear down palm trees- by himself. He has taught me that you have to take care of your body. And that exercise is important because I think it helps him with #6. He lets out the very little steam he has, and can clear his mind. And let just be honest, he looks good!

4. Work Hard. Play Hard. This kind of correlates with the last one. My dad has the most amazing work ethic ever. He works HARD everyday. Whether he is in the office, or outside pulling weeds around the shop. He does. not. stop. when he gets an idea or a task started. But he knows how to have fun. He does what he likes to do. He has a healthy balance of hard work and fun. I think he needs to have a little more fun though!

Proud Papa

3. Compassion, Honesty, Forgiveness. I have been hearing this one for years. If you have a problem with someone you need to a. go to them with compassion b. you need to be as honest as you possible can be c. you need to be willing to forgive. If you can't do all three of these you are not going to be able to get passed what is going on. You have to have all three parts. Once you do, you can talk to the person and be done with it. I have used this more times than I would admit, and it really does work! I think this is one of the reasons so many people respect my dad.

2. I am Beeeeautiful. I work for my dad, and everyday he tells me how pretty I look. Everyday. And I know he isn't just saying it either, well sometimes he might but he doesn't have too, but he always does. Growing up we had this little saying, he told me "Bug, if a guy ever tells you 'You are Beautiful' tell him... 'My daddy tells me that everyday, tell me something I don't already know!'" This kind of confidence is so important to a young girl growing up, especially through the awkward years, I don't think I knew how much it has impacted my life until now. I am so grateful my dad has always made me feel beautiful.

Honorary mention:I am not spoiled. I am well taken care of. My dad takes care of us.

1. Love the one you are with.  gosh I can't even write this one without tears welling up in my eyes. My dad has always had one piece of advice for newly weds or young families: The best thing you can do for your family and your kids is to love their mother. There is NO question my dad loves my mom more everyday. He chooses to love her, but it is easy for him. The way he looks at her, slow dances with her in the kitchen all. the. time. He is her rock. Her lover. Her best friend. The love they have is rare, beautiful and on fire. I have been given the BEST example of the kind of love I desire and deserve. My dad has always put my mother on a pedestal. It is the most beautiful kind of love I can imagine.

Mother's Day 2008

There are tons of other things my dad has taught me: like how to drive, patience, dancing father daughter dances with me at recitals, etc. But these are just a few of the important lessons that I have taken from him and will always cherish. I love my dad so much.

I know I am extremely blessed to have a father like I do. I don't know how I got so lucky but I thank God every time I think of him!

Happy Birthday Papa! Love you Big, Daddy!

Thankful Heart

Thanking God during a stormy season of life is not the first thing that comes to our minds.
Most of the time, when things go wrong, we run from God
Or blame Him for the troubles in our lives

It's not easy to be thankful
When you lost a loved one
When there is a new diagnosis of cancer in your family
When your heart is broken into pieces
When your dream job doesn't work out

I am not the best at being thankful during hard times
Actually its probably one of the last things I have done, if I did it at all.

Something really spoke to my heart in the book I have been reading lately, Classic Christianity.
So I wanted to share it with you or anyone who is struggling with faith, life, God's will for them...

"The essence of a life of faith is a thankful heart... 1 Thessalonians 5:18 'Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.' Why would God tell us to give thanks in all circumstances, even in bad ones? because giving thanks is a concrete expression of our faith in God- that our lives are in His hands, and that we are trusting Him to fulfill His promise in Romans 8:28 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.' The result of trusting God with our lives and expressing that faith through giving thanks is a freedom and peace that is supernatural:  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7."  - Classic Christianity, p 164

It doesn't always make sense
Why God's plans for us
hurt our hearts
cause fear in us
make us turn our backs
but maybe if we truly try to be thankful for all circumstances
we will feel the comfort of the Lord around us.

This part of the book revealed to me,
even though I am hurting, struggling, disappointed or happy, grateful, content
I need to be thankful because God is protecting my heart
He is working all circumstances to the best plan for me.

Good and Bad.

Body Image

When I was younger my Dad had a little saying...
He would tell me 'I was beautiful', and he would say
"If a boy ever tells you, 'you're beautiful' look at him and say,
'My daddy tells me that every day, tell me something I don't already know!'"

I remember when I was little, I knew I was 'fuller' than my friends

I had a bigger butt
My legs were never as small
I had an hourglass figure at the age of 8
I mean I had bangs that made me look like I had a mullet
Yes Marisa, I admit it...
I was just bigger...

But it didn't seem to matter then
I loved spending time with my friends
all the different sizes we were
I noticed our differences
But I didn't compare them
or think someone else's feature were superior over the other.

Now I notice and compare
I think about how I wish I had
Those legs
That butt
Smaller hips
Bigger boobs...

When do our issues with body image begin?

Why do they start? Who puts its in our heads?
Media, society, friends, parents, parents friends, something internal?
This sounds like something I would have discussed in my gender communications class or a topic for a sociology paper...

Don't get me wrong...
Its not a constant thing,
and for the most part,
I am happy with my body
But sometimes, dissatisfaction boils up

Confidence, self esteem those things are taught
My parents have done a wonderful job of that.
But, I can't help but compare, knit pick, dream
about what my idea of the perfect body is...

Its tough being a girl
You go to the gym,
to be better
to feel better
to live better
but then you go home and eat chocolate because
that girl has better...
legs
butt
arms
stomach
gym clothes!

I don't know why this has been on my heart the last few days
I have been making better choices
I should feel like my efforts are helping, not making it worse
There is a chance its because the other night I jiggled when I know I shouldn't have
(my butt jiggled when I was brushing my teeth, I know that is not supposed to be a full body exercise!!!!)
or
It might have to do with the bathing suit shopping via victoriasecret dot com
be careful... going to that website has side effects that include and are not limited too
eating a whole bag of milk chocolate covered toffee popcorn from trader joes... enough said.

But it seems to be a hot topic, especially in the last few days with other blogs I read
One inparticular, yes and yes
The other day there was a guest post  that resonated with me
I had been particularly hard on myself that day
About all my perfect imperfections

And what I learned was...
When my confidence isn't at its normal level
When I am feeling especially bad about a certain area of my body
I want to remember to appreciate it
Anyone could be someone's idea of 'perfect'
even me...

I may not have the best legs
but my legs get me out of bed everyday, dance the night away with my friends, hike camelback with my best friend.
I may not have perfectly toned arms
but my arms let me hug my family, friends and pick up my niece, they allow me serve others and explore life.
I may not have the most rockin' body
but my body is capable, its beautiful, its mine.
It might not be, or ever be like the Victoria Secret Models
but I want to appreciate my body.

Even on the days I have trouble with my body image
I want to appreciate it for what it is!

Fear has no place in Our Hearts

Three Years...
Three years ago, our world was turned upside down.

I remember my parents calling my sister and I
Asking us to come over to their house, which normally wouldn't be a big deal
But it was after they were supposed to get the results
They asked both of us to leave work
I knew, what I had prayed for- didn't happen

We walked through the door
Mom and Dad sitting on the edge of the couch,
They stood up to hug us
Which normally wouldn't be a big deal
But there was something different
Everything felt much more delicate

There are just a few words that actually make it through my sobs.
Positive.
Maligant.
We will fight this.
Tears. Tears. Tears. and more Tears.
Breast Cancer.
Tears. Tears. Tears. and more Tears.
Fear has no place in our Hearts.
The Lord is working through us
Tears. Tears. Tears. and more Tears.

That moment, everything surged into perspective.
I remember calling my girlfriend Karalyn
I didn't have to say more than
I need to get my tattoo now
She knew exactly what I meant.
*I never did get the tattoo, granting Momma's wishes*

At that moment, I knew everything was about to change
My Momma and I would just sit on the couch and cry together
We researched. She researched. I cried.
When there is a threat to take away your best friend
There is no much more I could do but cry, and pray.

This experience, I would never wish upon any family
But the saddness is, it affects almost every family in some way
Our family chose to be better because of it
My mom sent out encouraging emails
Tracking her progress, with a sense of ease, strength and confidence
She was still our rock.

Fear has no place in our Hearts.

I became an emergency contact on my Momma's medical records
My dad was there, every.step.of.the.way.
He took her shopping for wigs.
Shaved her cute little cue ball head
Held her. Held all of us.
We went to every chemo treatment
He went to every doctors appointment.

This diagnosis brought our family closer together
And we were close before it happened
There was a reason that our family was going through this
And we were not going to let it be another bad statistic
.
I decided to walk in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day
You walk "60" miles in 3 days
Side note: technically the trail is about 20 miles a day, but you literally walk from 5 am Friday morning to 5 pm Sunday- so it adds up to being more than 60 miles.
I asked my friend Karalyn if she wanted to join
The next day she showed up with her tennis shoes on
and my very own pink camelbak
I knew we were doing this

Soon, my brother joined in
and then my dad
and then, my mom...
She didn't want to feel left out

So two weeks after finishing her last chemo
After having a double mastectomy, months prior
Our family walked over 60 miles in honor of the fight our Momma was fighting
It was definitely one of those experiences in life you don't forget

Sleeping in pink tents
Walking. Walking. and more Walking.
Hearing every word for "boob"- and its not weird or inappropriate
People cheering you on.
Tears. Happy Tears. Sad Tears.
Feeling accomplished to walk every step, next to Our Survivor.

Friends there to cheer us along

"I'm a Boob Man"- thats what his sign said

We Made It! The whole way!

We did the walk in San Diego. Figured if we are walking 60 miles, we might as well get a vacation from it!

Our Sign on our Tent to Thank all the people who donated!

The last years have come and gone
Most of the time, I don't think back on that time
I know it happened, but its gone
Fear has no place in our Hearts.

Thank you Momma for your fight
Thank you Jesus for letting us keep her here with us.
She needs to be here. for a very long time. please!

"Skateistan: To Live and Skate Kabul"

I stumbled across this Sundance Film while on another blog
I find it to be really really interesting and inspiring...

There are a lot of non-profits out there that I think are amazing organizations
This one is definitely one that I would love to learn more about here
Wouldn't it be amazing to be apart of something like this...

It just makes me feel so blessed to live where I do.
It gives me an amazing outlook and perspective on my "problems"

Just opens the eyes to how other people live, and the simple things that can make life altering differences

The Good. The Bad. And the really really Bad.

Its hard to think about everything that has changed for me this year
without leaking from my eyes.

All the Good.
All the really really Good.

All the Bad.
All the really really Bad.

I am thankful for everything I went through this year. All the people who were there for me during 2010.  All the experiences I have learned from. The growth and process I have made, even if it is a two steps forward, one step backwards process.

All the Good.
All the really really  Good.

All the Bad.
All the really really Bad.

I wish I had more words, for my last blog of 2010. But they will have to come another time...

Here is to a New Year.
A new slate to start fresh.
Here is to the Good. The really really Good. The Bad. And the really really Bad.

Here is to a new Me.
To continue the journey to becoming the best version of myself.

Its not all going to happen in just a few weeks, months or even a year...
This growth will continue.
Just hope in 2011 I can find people in my life to share and encourage that growth with
If it be family, friends or love, I am open for any kind of support.

Here is to a New Year with a lot of
The Good.
The really really Good.

and hopefully not too much of
The Bad.
or the really really Bad.

The Little Things

I have always known that great things come in little packages,
I mean.. I am only 5'3- thats pretty little...

But, I have just realized this year how simple things leave the greatest impact
A card in the mail during a tough week
A text during finals week
A little present to say thank you
Sending someone something they mentioned on a side note and they don't even remember telling you they wanted it
Flowers for no reason...

it is the little things that stick
it is the little things that feel best to give and recieve

It is the little things in life that I look forward too.

10.14.2010

Let the Countdown begin...

Since I can remember, life has always been a countdown
It was a countdown to Christmas break, Spring Break, Summertime
Countdowns to birthdays, vacations, concerts or sleepovers

People count months, years, decades of anniversaries
We count down time til we see our friends who live far away, family who live in other states.
It is always a countdown to something in the future
Once we know how to look forward towards something
That's all we seem to do

Having a new baby in the family has given me a whole new perspective
Whether it be on life, love, family
Its an eye and heart opening experience
To re-evaluate what I am living my life for...

Since my niece arrived, I don't want to countdown...
I don't want her to grow up too fast
She has already changed so much, life is happening too quickly with her here
I want to enjoy everyday that she is here, I don't want to miss a thing from counting down my life...

As I wrote earlier, life is all about timing
Life for me could be a countdown...
I could countdown til May (One year since graduation/a year of being single)
Countdown the holidays, trips, Birthdays

But I am not going to count my life down
I am going to live my life to the fullest
Welcome each day and only look forward to the events of those days

Sedona

I am so blessed by the friendships I have
I have a core group of girlfriends that I am beyond grateful for
They have my back, through it all, some are newer friendships, others have blossomed through college, one has even come back in my life from when we were kids.
I have the most amazing group of girls, and God truly put them in my life when I needed them most.

This weekend, though short, we were able to escape from the city, go up to the beautiful Red Rock country of Sedona, and just spend quality time together.
These memories we are making are ones I will hold on too for life.

Marisa and I, had to make a quick trip back down to the Valley this morning because my precious niece has decided she wants to come out and party with us!

My sister is in labor! ahhhhh so excited!

As I sit here and wait to get the call to go to the hospital, I am going to post some pictures of Sedona, reflect on life, and just be thankful for everything that I have going on.

Love to love you all... xoxo

My Loves

Truly surrounded by some of God's best creations

Happy Birthday!

This post is going to be two different ones combined...

Today is my momma's birthday! She is 21 for the 32nd time! And I could not be more blessed by someone in my life. Yes, there are times when we both drive each other crazy.
But I am more and more like my momma everyday.

For instance. yesterday I was stressing out about something, then my mom picked me up and she was stressing out about something too, and in my head I was just laughing at us because we do the same thing.

My mom is really good at making everyone she is around feel special. I feel so lucky to know, she passed this down to me. I might not do it as well as she does, but she taught me to love people how they feel loved and I am trying to perfect it at a young age!

My mom is my hero for so many reasons.
She never forgets stuff
She always loves
She laughs at herself
She is an encourager
She worries far too often
but one of the biggest reason my momma is my hero is because she is my survivor...

*this is the other part of the blog I wanted to do*

Its October... If you are watching football, walking through the mall, grocery store, anywhere you will see PINK
Its Breast Cancer Awareness Month-

Here is my Breast Cancer story...
My aunt passed away of breast cancer in 2001.
Its one of my earliest memories of the situation.
It was my mom's sister, my mom's best friend really
It was my Aunt Dee- always happy, always smiling, always with the best shoes!
Since she had passed, I would always think about Aunt Dee, everytime I buy a new pair of shoes I think of her and how she would probably love them!

Then

April 29,2008
My dad called my sister and I, and told us to come to the house.
I didn't realize this day would change my life so drastically... all of our lives actually
I made my sister drive because I couldn't really think straight.
I don't really remember everything because it was kind of a blur
but I do know, when you see those people collapse because they are devastated its because their knees just buckle...
as dramatic as it seems, it just happened.
They told us, she had Breast Cancer...

it was the scariest  moment in my life.
This is MY mom, this can NOT be happening
then you feel like you are ALL alone, the only family going through this

But truth is we arent, we aren't the only family thathas been through this.
we went through surgeries, chemo, radiation...
I was the emergency contact on my mom's medical forms and I was the baby of the family

We picked out wigs, went to classes on what to expect, golden spoon after surgeries
as awful as this situation was for my momma, she was always OUR rock.
I know she leaned on my dad a lot, but to us kids she could do anything

She walked the breast cancer 3day, 12 days out of chemo!
Bald head, never slept in a tent, sick from the chemo
walked EVERY STEP of the 60+ miles (the trail is 60 miles but you walk from 530am on a friday to 530pm on a sunday anywhere you go)
without complaining, mind you!

its been over two years since that time in our life
I am a different person from it, as is my momma
but her story is so powerful
She encouraged so many people in their lives by sharing her experience

Momma,
Thank you for being my survivor
You never know how much I love you.
<3

To all the Survivors, Fighters, Family Members, People who lost their battles... you are not alone. there is only love for you. we will beat this all together.

Never Forget

With all the other things going on in life, sometimes we forget to say Thank you to all the soliders, and their families for the endless sacrifices they give on a daily basis for our freedom and lives.

Nine years ago today, my mom woke me up and told me that one of the twin towers had been hit. I remember rolling out of bed, not really sure what she was talking about and going into our living room and watching the news and seeing the events of that day unravel. I was in the ninth grade. The junior high I went to wouldn't let us watch the news during the day. But my english teacher Mrs. Ruiz turned it on for us and let us watch it.

It is one of those moments, when this day comes around each year, as adults we will look back at this time in history and can tell the story of where we were that exact moment. Even 25 years from now.

Thank you to all the soliders, and their families for keeping us safe. I pray for the families that lives were deeply changed that morning. And for a nation under God.

Penny for your Thoughts

I just have a lot of thoughts going through my head right now so I thought I would write them down.

-I have the best friends in the world; I hope everyone has friends like mine.
-I may not know what I want completely, but I know what I don't want
-Yes, girls are complicated, but boys are just as complicated.
-Men on the otherhand, much more simple. I am looking for simple, thank you!
-I have a new favorite quote and encouraging word- "You are unrepeatable. There is a magic about you that is all your own..." -D.M. Dellinger
-I really want eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns
-I didn't know I could be this happy after being so broken
-This year, is going to be the best one yet because I am going to make sure it is
-I have the best momma and poppa a girl could ask for
-Your birthday is the best day on facebook... I am a love whore and I felt SO loved by all the comments.
-I love to be loved on
-I am loving being able to live my life how I want too
-Music has the answer to any question you ask
-"My heart won't tell my mind to tell my mouth what it should say"- Zac Brown Band, As She's Walking Away
 - I want to always live life how I am right now

The other F Word

Ok, not that F word... again

But I have the very best friends in the world.
Today has been an exceptional day!
I have felt so much love and gotten little surprises all day!
I am so blessed and thankful for all of you!

I wouldn't have been able to get through these last few months without you!
Love Love Love!

Got it from my Momma

As I start living life a little more independently, I see a lot of my momma in me.
Some of it are really good things that I treasure and I am blessed with,
Some of it are funny tendencies I can't help
and some of it is annoying, but its annoying to both of us that we do it so its ok!

Here are a few things:
My mom is really good at making anyone and everyone feel loved in their own personal way. She has taught me how to do this. I watched her, and I have, continue to be and I am sure will always be shown this from my momma. I remember when I was in the 2nd grade, I collected Beanie babies.. well I collected them for a long time but this one particular time I came home from school and *warning this could be TMI* I always went straight to the bathroom at home because I hated going at school. SO I go to wash my hands and the frog beanie baby I had been wanting was hanging out on my faucet! There was no reason for it, but she did it just because. I love that about her.

We both have an addiction to Tootsie Rolls. Bring them around us and we will just eat them until they are all gone.

She picks out and writes the best cards. She sends cards out to people just because. She has a list that she makes each week to send cards to people. I try to do this, but I want to be as good as she is at it.

She is hands down the best mom around. She is selfless, giving, caring, she listens, worries, laughs with me, cries with me. She feels my happiness, shares in my joys, but she is there during the really bad times. She is my best friend. She is a great example of a wife and a mother. I can not wait to be like her when I am at that place in my life.

I'm not tall like her, but she gave me some of her basketball skills.

I wear my watches and bracelets on my right hand. she is left handed, so I always watched her put hers on the right, so I do too.

We both think A LOT. probably to the point where we make ourselves sick thinking someone is mad at us, or we did something wrong.

She can laugh at herself.

She is beautiful, inside and out. She is very special to me.

I am so blessed with all the things I got from my momma...

even my big booty! ;)

Last Day of the Year

Sometimes when I start to get comfortable and think that I am always in control of my life, God does something to show me that he really is in control! Sometimes these moments are tragic; sometimes these moments are glorious; sometimes these moments are small; but sometimes these moments are grand.

Today I had one of those moments, thought I would call this one a small moment in my life, it could prove to be grand later on in my life. But lately, as you may know, if you've been reading, I blog a lot about my journey with Weight Watchers... Well today, the LAST day of the year- I AM A LIFETIME MEMBER!!!!! I had reached my goal weight 6 weeks ago, and I have maintained and gone below my goal weight in the 6 weeks to reach lifetime- ON THE LAST DAY OF 2009!

You know those weeks where I gained, or the weeks that I didn't lose as much as I wanted too, or the weeks I didn't work out as hard as I should have... it all happened the way it did, so I would become a lifetime member on the last day of the year! So I am going into the New Decade, prepared, encouraged and supported!

Its a great day for me. These last 14 weeks have been great weeks for me, school is great and I have made myself a priority, it feels good!

I wish you all a Happy Happy New Year! And I pray that you are all blessed and encouraged for the new year. I love you all! xoxo

We All Got It!

Ok, I know I am doing two posts today but I haven't done a Thankful one, and I write/talk to much so the other post would have been way to long if I would have wrote this in there!

Today, I want to talk about how I am Thankful for my siblings, through blood and law! There is one way to tell if youre a Klingaman, look at the booty! We all got it, my sister, my brother and I, all have big ole bubble butts. I am thankful for my bubble butt because its something I share with my family. =D

My sister and I didn't get to grow up together but I am thankful that she is here with me now. I am thankful that we can try to make up for the times we didn't have and that I have a sister I can talk to when I need something. She has great advice and a pure heart. I am thankful that I have her now. I am thankful for her husband Dustin, even though he drives me crazy sometimes, he is a lot of fun to have in our family. He is genuine, caring and sweet, even with his tough guy persona!

My brother, has always been one of my best friends. I am thankful that I can call him in the middle of the day to ask him how to lift weights and he is there for me. I miss the friendship that we used to have, but I am thankful for all the fun we have had and will continue to have as adults. I am thankful that he has been there for me during really hard times, and I know that he will always be there for me. I am thankful for the love he has shown me, and the role model he has been for me in my life. Without him, I don't know where I would be, but because of him I know where I can be. I am also thankful for his wife, Emily. I am thankful for the relationship that we share. She is very much like a sister to me, and I am thankful that we have many years to come to grow our relationship. I am thankful for her sister kelsey, whom I call my own sister. She is a light in my life. I am thankful for the fun times that we have had together, and the unique family situation we have created. Our families, are not secondary families, we have joined them together, and I could not be happier. I am thankful for Blair and look forward to growing up together. I have always wanted a big family, and I didn't know I would get that through my "in-Laws" but I am very thankful for everyone of them!

Who are you thankful for in your life??
